In many instances, this advance could help do away with diagnostic catheterizations so routine today that detect blockages in the coronary arteries. There also will continue to be a strong focus on Carolinas' cancer programs. O'Loughlin said he is aware of their medical counterpart "down the road" but emphasized again that there is obvious support to justify the need for two WALKER Continued From 1B After Stanley wired his goat with 220 volts, Santee Electric installed a meter on his goat.

Stanley was outraged. He exclaimed, "I may be a McKenzie, but I ain't going to pay no goat's light bill." David Brown, a pill-pushing papa at the pharmacy in WalMart in Lake City, left the wastelands of Cedar Swamp and entered the promised land at Sandy Bay where he took a McKenzie for a bride. When you marry a McKenzie, you don't need awards; you need mercy. Hemingway Mayor Grady Richardson is our Mayor of the Year.

Mayor Richardson was quoted as telling his Gameco*ck friends, "Blessed are those who expect not, for ye will not be disappointed." Bubba Matthews is our Coroner of the Year. "I think the fact that McLeod is a good hospital and our competitor is good because it makes both compete, which means that we invest in technologies that improve our facilities," he said. "We both recognize that both facilities are going to grow and do well as the Pee Dee continues to expand." One of the things making Carolinas stand out, O'Loughlin said, is its commitment toward providing exceptional patient care in an attractive, state-of-theart facility. "All of our employees understand the importance of how we communicate to our patients by having a compassionate attitude," he said.

"We try to focus on that every day, and I think that's what sets us apart. We want an environment where they don't just think they're another number."
